General Membership

Q: Why does my BNI Name and password not work?
A: BNIConnect is a completely new and separate website from OrgTrack (Our prior local site), you are required to activate a new account.

Q: How do I activate a new account on BNIConnect?
A: You should have received an email from Tech Support with a link to activate your new BNIConnect account. Choose your unique username and fill in all the required fields. If you have not received the link, contact  www.bnimiami.com/support.html and we will gladly send you a new one.
 
Q: I clicked on the activation link and received an error?
A: This is due to one of the following reasons:
  1. The link is only valid for 24 hours and has expired.
  2. Due to the initial high amount of logins, certain links are non-functional and must be resent.
  3. Your form was incomplete.
  4. You used a different email than the one you received the link from. (You can change your email AFTER logging in for the first time.)
  5. The new userid you chose is taken or invalid.
  6. There is a more recent email and link which superceded the previous one.
  7. Your paperwork is not complete and you are not fully activated on the system.
If you continue to have activation issues, please contact www.bnimiami.com/support.html to resole your issue.
 
Q: Where do I go once I’m activated?
A: You will automatically be directed to the member login page. In order to go back there again, go to www.bnimiami.com and click on the “Members Only” button in the top right.
 
Q: Is it advisiable to activate and log in?
A: Yes. As this is an entirely new Website, there is now little, and in many cases, no information on you other than your name and email (not shared by default). When you activate your account, login, AND update your member profile, your information will only then be available globally.
 
Q: I forgot my password or user id.
A: Click on the “Lost Password? Click Here” link under the Login button on the Members Only Login page. Enter the email you registered with and your Memorable answer. If you forgot the answer, contact www.bnimiami.com/support.html to obtain the answer.
 
Q: How do I set up my profile?
A: Click on “My Account” then choose the various tabs and fill in the appropriate information.

A: Check out our On-line Training page for videos on how to do this and much more.
 
Q: I want to change my email, but is says “Email is already registered”?
A: Only one UNIQUE email is allowed per member. If your company has a communal email and there is another member in BNI using it, you will not be able to. If this is not the case, contact www.bnimiami.com/support.html and open a support ticket.
 
Q: My category or other information is wrong and I can’t change it?
A: Categories are limited to a select few. Contact  www.bnimiami.com/support.html.
 
Q: How do I search for a member?
A: There are THREE ways for a member to search for another member:
  1. Regional member search: Click “find a member” at the top of this page. This will search the BNI MIAMI DADE region for a member.
  2. Global member search: Login and click on the magnifying glass. When you search here, you are search ALL BNI members worldwide who are not already in your contact list. If a member is in your contact list, then choose option 3
  3. Login -> Connections -> Manage -> Search Connections
Q: My sponsor is missing. 
A: Please inform your Secretary Treasurer of who your sponsor is in order that your information may reflect correctly. 
 
Q: My history and stats are missing?
A: We are working around the clock to transfer all data from the beginning of the franchise to date. Please be patient as this part of the migration will take a while.
 
Q: I cannot change my basic information all of a sudden.
A: Please check with your Secretary Treasurer to see if your payments are current. If you are late, you are locked out from making changes. If you are late past 30 days, you are automatically dropped as a member by the system and you must re-apply.
 
Q: Why is my Title or Degree not listed?
A: There is a separate field for Title and one for suffix field for your degrees such as Esq., CPA, DOM, III, etc.  
DO NOT include this in the First or Last Name field. It is problematic to the data migration process (and does not belong there.)
 
Q: How can I find my CHAPTER’s web site and Chapter’s Photos?
A: Go To www.bnimiami.com . Click on “Find A Chapter” -> type “BNI” in the chapter name and click “Find” -> Click on your chapter -> Click on “Visit Chapter Website” or “View Chapter Gallery”
 
Q: My Chapter’s Website is ok. How can I make it better?
A: Send and pictures, videos, or ideas on how to improve the chapter website to you Chapter Leadership Team.
 
Q: How do I find a member in BNI?
A: Go to www.bnimiami.com and click on “Find a Member” -> Enter a first name, last name or other criteria. Be as broad as possible. -> Click “Find” -> If you have too many results, you can narrow them using the search field.
 
Q: How do I register for an Event in BNI?
A: Go to www.bnimiami.com and click on “Events” -> Choose a month or narrow the options if you wish -> Click on the event -> Click “Register for Members” (You will be required to log in if you have not done so already -> Find the event and lick on it -> Click Register and fill out any info required. You will receive a confirmation email.
 
Q: Where can I find training or other BNI-related documents?
A: Log in and you will see the Documents’ section -> Click on “More” to see the entire list -> Click on the document to download it.

Q: Where do I add visitors?
A: Member Login -> Operations -> Manage Visitors -> Add a visitor.

Q: Why can’t I view/edit visitors?
A: At the moment, access to Visitor Hosts is limited to Adding Visitors only.

Secretary Treasurer

Q: When I click on:  Operations->Manage Memberships->Manage Members, I cannot find a member?
A: “Late” or “Dropped” members will not show up under “Active”. Make sure status is set to “Select Status” (unselected)

Q: I do not see the “Drop” or “Renew” buttons on the membership details page?
A: If a member holds any role in the chapter, only an Area Director has those options available.
 
Q: Why can’t I enter more than one speaker per week?
A: Inform  www.bnimiami.com/support.html  to change the Chapter Attributes to reflect the appropriate number of speakers for your meeting each week.
 
Q: How do I add a member (A New Application)?
A: Operations->Manage Memberships->Enter New Application->Search (Previous Memberships)->Next (or convert if you found them)->Search Prospects and Visitors->Enter New Member
The first search is “Past Members”. 

Enter in all relevant information and click “submit”. At this point the Applicant is now a “Pending Member” until the Area Director reconciles the application thus converting the pending member to an active member.

Q: What a PALMS Report
A: PALMS is an acronym for Present, Absent, Late, Medical, Sub. This is the weekly report a VP enters in order to hold each other accountable in our chapter. (Also sometimes incorrectly referred to as the VP Report)

Q: Where do I enter a PALMS Reports
A: Operations->Meeting Management->Enter PALMS
 
Q: How much data (what dates) am I responsible for?
A: You are responsible for entering VP/PALMS Reports since April 1st, 2011, which was our cut-off date for the old system. All data since April 1st must be re-entered in BNIConnect if you have not yet done so.
 
Q: I’m locked out of a certain day’s PALMS report? 
A: If you accidentally clicked “Enter PALMS” instead of “Save as Draft”, email your Area Director with the date to he may unlock it for you.
 
Q: What’s a CEU? 
A: CEU Stand for Continuing Education Unit. See the Slips Document available in the Documents Section.
 
Q: Where are the 6-point Graphs? 
A: Although the 6-point graphs are not part of BNIConnect, we are working to integrate them (or something similar) into our region. The priority at the moment is making sure all members have updated information.

Q: Why can’t I upload a document to the document library?
A: All documents should be uploaded through tech support. Send your request and files to www.bnimiami.com/support.html.

Q: I cannot “Drop” a member, the button is missing.
A: Remove the member from any role (admin->Chapter->Manage Leadership Team->Manage Current LT) prior to dropping.
 
Q: How to I send an Activation Link to a new user?
A: Tools->Manage User Logins->Choose your Country/Region/Chapter->Search->Click on arrow by member.
 
Q: The Member does not appear at all in the Manage User Login List?
A: He is already logged in the system. Go To: Operations->Manage Memberships->Manage Members->Search Members->Click “Edit Member” Icon of member-> and click on his 2nd tab to see his username and memorable question. Give that information to the member so he/she may retrieve their password and log in.
 
Q: I cannot change his email in the Manage User Login List. It says “This email id is already registered”?
A: There is another member (Or the same member with an old obsolete id) with that email address.
Contact techsupport@bnimiami.com to locate the file and remedy the situation. If this is for a new applicant, choose “Member has no email address” temporarily in order to complete the application process and tech support will resolve it afterwards.
 
Q: How to I enter a Chapter Visitation Report?
A: Prepare your entire report beforehand. John can send a template to you if you like. Copy it in its entirety.
    Click on Operations->Region->Chapter Visits->Record Chapter Visit -> Fill out all info and paste your report into the comments field.
 
Q: How to I re-enter a Chapter Visitation Report?
A: If you make a mistake or need to make a correction, A newer entry for the same date by the same person will override the prior report.
 
Q: How to I view a Chapter Visitation Report?
A: Click on Operations->Reports->Chapter Visit Report (not to be confused with Chapter Visitor Report-> Fill out all info and click “Go”.
 
Q: How do I pull of a roster of who has registered for an event?
A: Click on the particular event from the Events Menu (you may have to click more)->View Registrations
 
Q: How do I mark Attendance for an event?
A: Click on the particular event from the Events Menu (you may have to click more)->Mark Attendance
If the member has not registered, click “Add Attendee” (click yes to save)->Search for the member(s) and click the add box.
 
Q: How do I register another member prior to an event?
A: There is a roundabout way of doing this as BNIConnect normally does not allow for it.
Make sure you are logged in. Click on the particular event from the Events Menu (you may have to click more)->Click on Mark Attendance-> Search for the member(s) and click the add box ->Click on “Mark Attendance again and Uncheck the member.  As strange as it may seem, when the member was unmarked (Attendance), he/she was not un-registered. There you have it.
 
Q: Can I remove a member from an event registration?
A: No. Contact  www.bnimiami.com/support.html to void or cancell the registration.
