Leadership Opportunities

There are many opportunities to give back to your chapter and gain more in return, and the best is to hold a Leadership position within the chapter. This leads to increased Visibility + Credibility = Profitability.

VISIBILITY
The visibility phase is important because it creates recognition and awareness. The greater your visibility, the more widely known you will be, the more information you will obtain about others, the more opportunities you will be exposed to, and the greater will be your chances of being accepted by others as someone to whom they can or should refer business. Visibility must be actively maintained and developed; without it, you cannot move on to the next level, credibility.

CREDIBILITY
Credibility is the quality of being reliable, worthy of confidence. Once you begin to form expectations of each other - and the expectations are fulfilled - your relationship can enter the credibility stage. The old saying that results speak louder than words is true.

PROFITABILITY
Profitability is not found by bargain hunting. It must be cultivated, and, like farming, it takes patience. Visibility and credibility are important in the relationship-building stages of the referral marketing process. But when you have established an effective referral-generation system, you will have entered the profitability stage of your relationships with many people - the people who send you referrals and the customers you gain as a result.
“After several months of membership in BNI, the Vice President of my chapter asked me to check how much closed business BNI generated for me. I pulled my quick books file, grabbed a highlighter, and started marking in yellow the clients I got from BNI. There was a whole lot of yellow on that page! So I thought to myself, if this is what I can accomplish without taking this seriously, I can only imagine what it would be like if I put in the effort.”

Taking on a leadership role within your chapter benefits you in many ways:
  • It gives you an opportunity to show your chapter members that you are leadership material. (Visibility)
  • Gives you more exposure in front of the chapter. And more exposure translates into more business. (Visibility)
  • It builds trust with the other members. (Credibility)
  • Experience - This is a great way to learn more about the inside workings of BNI, and the more you know about the organization, the better you can make it work for you.
  • Confidence - Holding a position within an organization builds personal confidence and other members will have more confidence in your abilities.
  • Training - You receive great training. Not only at the Semi Annual Leadership Training, but also on an ongoing basis through your Director.

LEADERSHIP TEAM SELECTION
Our philosophy is to take a very professional approach to the transition of Chapter President, Vice President, Secretary Treasurer and Leaders. Think of this process much the same as you would Corporate Officer transition. When a large organization/corporation has a change at their top leadership slots, what occurs?
